Can we get much higher?

My mate informed me of this the other day. A chat up line involving a polar bear.

boy: how much does a polar bear weigh?
girl: i don't know, how much?
boy: enough to break the ice, hi my name is...etc

Stunningly brilliant.

Howlin' for you

I must admit
I can't explain
Any of these thoughts
Racing through my brain
It's true
Baby I'm howlin for you

The above song is a beaut of a song! It features in the new Bradley Cooper film 'Limitless'. I went to watch this film the other day with my brother not Beki or Eilidh. It's a stunning film, really well filmed and put together. It is based on the novel 'Dark Fields' which after a little Google search I have learned that it is hard to get hold off. So hard in fact people on Amazon are asking for £65 for a used copy of it. MUST BE GOOD...

Wednesday:

My neighbor once said 'It is a must that you reach out and touch people' - It was this attitude that lead to his inevitable arrest.
I wake with a very sore shoulder obviously a few months away from the gym and a sudden rush back into it didn't agree with my body. I spend the day sitting around the house and doing a little research in my upcoming Photography project - nothing much is firing for me yet. In the evening my brother and I go and watch Limitless - awesome film. It really is a much watch. It would be amazing if that drug did actually exist.

Thursday:

Another cracking day in Sandal. I rush some food down me have a speed poo and lob on some gym kit and set off running to the gym. No longer can I run with my iPod in my ears. I can't listen to the pace I'm going at (feet hitting the ground) I'm over half way there and have only listened to three songs. I was practically sprinting along the road. I must have looked like a right psycho being chased by...no one.

Still no ideas have come to me for this project. However, I keep thinking about doing urban landscape photography. I've just completed an essay on landscape photography so the methods and theories are pretty fresh in my mind. I will already have the research to back up my photos so it is a tempting idea. I'm going to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park on Saturday with Andy, not Beki or Eilidh due to other reasons to take some photos are see if any of the current exhibition will trigger anything creative for me.

Build A Rocket Boys

Don't they know those days are golden?
Build a rocket boys!

Build a rocket boys!

Easter Holidays:

Monday
- I wake up to an empty house and a list of chores. I pack up my make shift bed as I'm currently sleeping downstairs due to various rooms being decorated upstairs. I introduce myself to Colin (the decorator) who I find covered in dust in one of the bedrooms. I make him a coffee whilst contemplating to myself why he is covered in dust if he's painting a wall. I treat him to a Breakaway biscuit with his drink.

Before 12 o'clock I'm also meant to be letting in another skilled worker, this time a plumber to sort out the system and handle on the toilet in one of the en suites. He arrives on time. I'm now alone in my house with a decorator and a plumber - is to obvious to make a porno joke?

Tuesday - A nice thing to do is to contradict demeaning graffiti. It's pretty shit to see some unimaginative tithead write 'Steve smells' on a pub toilet tile. Therefore, I'm now going to start to write 'Behave, no he doesn't' underneath. Karma comes into play. Winning.

The most exciting thing I've done today is go to Dunelm Mill to pick out some new blinds for the bedrooms. My opinion gets vastly overlooked by both parents and a heated debated simmers over 5ft or 6ft blinds.

Man crush

I was listening to the Carl Donnelly and Chris Martin podcast the other day. Two very funny comedians in which I've been lucky enough to see Carl Donnelly live twice. In one of the features in their podcast they discussed 'man crushes' - they both decided on Robert Downey Jr for their man crush. I was chatting to my flat mate Alex who is nick named the bear within our flat - we both agreed that at this current stage Bradley Cooper is mine and his man crush.

He is one suave fucker.

It takes a worried man...

My absence from writing has no excuses. I've been a busy chap finishing off my project on constructing realities and telling tales. A few final images are shown above. I was pleased with the general out come of my work. I think my research and development was stronger than my final images. I have my tutorial on this project on Thursday so I'll be able to get some one on one feed back from my tutor. My work above was all shot on 35mm B&W film using F/22 and flash.

I went home at the weekend after my brother had stayed with me for a couple of days last week. Was pretty nice to have him around in Notts. We played some football and had a lot to drink plus we had a good catch up. Over the weekend I went into the gym to try and secure myself some shifts for over easter. I also caught up over a few drinks with Olivia Lewis and her pretty face which was dead nice. Other than that I just ate my body wait in sandwich meats and scones with clotted cream and jam.

This week has been pretty much set on me finishing my essay on landscape photography. I'm looking at a particular image by William Henry Jackson. Which shows two men admiring the stunning views the American West has to offer.

Also at the moment round the Trent Uni area there is a lot of talk about voting for the new Trent ambassadors and student executive. When they come with their fliers to my flat I seem to have set up a basic rule of: if they have a pretty face and smile they are allowed to come in and put forward their waffle about their candidate however, a cheeky look through the peep hole and if it the person doesn't look cracking then it's a brief chat by the door.

Thursday is nearly here which means St.Patricks day - therefore, £1 a pint of Guiness is being served in Hooters. Already planned a visit with Alex and Ollie to the mecca of Nottingham. I will returning to this watering hole on Saturday for a beers, food and boobs with my cousin before we go and watch Nottingham Panthers at ice hockey.

Some good things to look forward to. Plus 3 weeks at home starting very soon. Cracking times.

Another thing

Just got in from a having a few drinks in Varsity. This look (above) really annoys me. I'm sorry but when going on a night out this should be socially banned.

Letter from god to man

Hey there, how's it going?
Long time no see.
I know I haven't been around much lately
But, it didn't seem like you wanted me to be
The last time I sent down a message you nailed it to the cross
So I figured I'd just leave you to it, let you be your own boss.

Above are three images from my current photography project at university. I'm looking at the reality of life and death and focussing in on the reality of meat itself. I had a critique seminar on my work today, and got some positive feedback with my progress. I know where to take the next shoot which will be mainly developing the top photo idea. "Dinner for one"
